The Restorative Powers of Tim Tams. In Fedoras We Trust.

There's much to be said for the restorative power of Tim Tams.

In especially trying times, the standard issue original version may not provide adequate emotional support.  In these situations, it is strongly suggested that Double Coat, (Best Ever) Classic Dark or Tim Tam Crush be consumed.  Due to the unique powers of Tim Tam physics, kilojoule values of biscuits eaten when having a Really Bad Day or Really Bad Week are actually negative.  Some things are best left unvalidated and just blindly accepted as fact.

That was the stash of Tim Tams I brought into work on Friday because we were all suffering and needed more than talk and (considerable and great) colleague support to get through the day.

Now it's Saturday and I am at work, again.  Not much to say really except that there have been the usual dramas, stress and chaos.  I'm normally okay with these shifts but when you add it to a really bad week and the fact that I'll be back here next weekend for more of the same, it's hard not to feel dramatic about it all.  I just need to remember that the shift will indeed end - soon(!!) and that the only thing I have control over is how I make myself feel.  There has been much deep breathing and the creation of positive energy (from those spare Tim Tam kilojoules).

I found this fedora hat at Sportsgirl a few weeks ago.  There was this version with a brass button on the band (removed in photo) for the bargain price of $9.99 or else the new season version without brass button for $29.99.

My inspiration for the purchase was Kurt Hummel from Glee.  He manages to stay calm and unruffled, even when faced with a slushie being dumped over him.  Might have to take Kurt's lead and wear my fedora on next Saturday's shift.

In the meantime, I'm dreaming about the freedom of tomorrow and what I could wear.  I'm listening to Glee tracks on my iPhone and I'm starting to smile.  Kurt would approve.

  2. Blighty,
Yes, you need Tim Tams in your life.

I work as a hospital doctor.

  3. Can I also add re: kilojoules, it's advisable to eat the whole packet in one sitting. Reason being, you'll consume the same kilojoules over the week the packet remains in your fridge anyway...

  6. Hi SSG, I know how awful it is to work on the weekend. Tim Tams would save me too. Or hot chocolate and some great magazines. Hang on and visualise the money. Love the Fedora! I'm not sure if I can carry one off very well. So I envy those who do. Enjoy tomorrow and hope it is sunny for us here in Sydney.

Hope that work is better for you next week.

  9. Awww I know exactly how you feel.
And I too drowned my sorrows with a few packets of Tim Tams (in addition to a few packets of just about everything else from the naughty aisles at Coles).
    See you today, we'll debrief.

  10. I must admit I am partial to the chewy caramel ones, but I don't think I have ever tried double-coat.

I agree with you about the medicinal properties of Tim Tams. Unfortunately, when it comes to tim tams I have absolutely no restraint... Once there is an open packet in the house, it is doomed to only survive a few hours. Eek! So I simply cannot buy them anymore. Hehehe.

  11. Lovely hat!
I also think the double coat tim-tams are the best. I also like the chocolate mousse ones :)
