A Pictureless Postcard From Hawaii. The Final Pack Begins.

Hello Everyone!

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. I'm sitting in our hotel room and it's a balmy evening. Just a little humid. The locals tell us that this is winter and the moisture in the air is unusual and excessive to their minds. I've just had a tuna and lettuce sandwich on the balcony as the sun set over the resort and the ocean beyond. I will be a very unwilling passenger on that Qantas flight to Sydney tomorrow morning, let me tell you.

I'm hoping that I still have what it takes to blog. Almost 10 days of sun, surf and beach have rendered me into a more tanned, more grounded and way more relaxed incarnation of the person I've been these last few months.

Hawaii has been a gracious host to Mr SSG and myself. I hardly know where to begin to tell you all the news. Yes so much shopping went down that a Hawaii Shop Girl post is in order but there has been so much more to this holiday. I am a different person to who I was 10 days ago.

I took some photos with Mr SSG's new iPad just now and I was hoping to include these with this post but the God of Photo Uploading From iPad has failed me. So you'll have to imagine the following:

- the sunset from our hotel room balcony
- our last dinner in Hawaii, from the 24 hour deli because we've eaten WAY too much these last few days to do justice to another American sized restaurant dinner
- the final mountain of shopping bags I've collected from my final assault on The Ala Moana Center (finally got that American spelling)
- my stash of Starbucks instant coffee, to remember this holiday when I'm making that first cup of coffee of the day at work next week.

I have to leave you for now because I seriously have to pack. All 64kg. Somehow it has to fit into my suitcase and the nifty ruck sack on wheels I bought on the second day of this holiday.

Take care and I'll be back soon. Hopefully after Darwin this weekend. I hope you're all well.

PS: I am now beyond up to the minute with Glee and The Good Wife. But not with Masterchef Australia or Offspring.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday and look forward to having a peek at your shopping haul!!!

  6. It's sooooo hard to come home from longish holidays like that, isn't it? I went on a cruise recently and it was just so much fun that I did not want to get off and head down the gangplank back to reality. It sounds like you've had an amazing time and I look forward to seeing some photos soon. :)

  7. Sounds like a wonderful trip - can't wait to see some of your loot when you get back! Safe flight.

  14. I hope you had a fabulous holiday and looking forward to seeing your stash!!!
Isn't the 2 x 32 kilo Qantas allowance the best!!!

  15. So lovely to hear from you all!

I'm home in Sydney and a little overwhelmed at the monster I've created. Every available surface in spare bedroom, the lounge room and the master bedroom is hidden under a mountain of shoes and clothing. It's like a stocktake gone wrong.

Will be back with a regular post when things settle down. Off to Darwin tomorrow morning.

    SSG xxx

  16. Can't wait for the wrap up! Don't let it overwhelm you. It can stay in the spare room for months on end. Chuck it all in there.

I just googled Sydney Shop Girl cause I was too lazy to go through my blog and the top result was Overspending on Escorts? Have a discreet affair for $49 lol

    TDM xx
