A Good Muesli Day.

A lot of things might be downright bad about the world at the moment but at least it was Good Muesli Day for me.

What made today's muesli so good was that I'd hit a layer made up mostly of dried fruit.  Cherries, blueberries, pineapple, pear and dates.... I love dried fruit.

Do you have this problem with instant coffee?  For some reason, it always tastes better at work for me.  Richer and fuller.  Whenever I make it at home, I end up with a watery tasting brew.  I have never been able to figure this out.  It's not a water to Moccona ratio problem and nor does it have anything to do with how much milk I add.  Instant coffee at home is always lacking.  Perhaps it's because I know I can get good coffee up the road or I'm less weary when I drink it at home.

I'm a veritable fountain of health professional news at the moment.  You certainly get variety when you read this blog.

I'm going to be up front about my running with you.  I don't look particularly graceful or agile when I pound the streets of my suburb at the crack of dawn.  I take narrow steps, my head doesn't move much and I don't heel strike.  But did you know that this odd looking run is actually very kind to my joints?  How do I know this?  From Mr SSG's podiatrist.  Apparently, this is the running style of African athletes and helps give them longevity in the sport.  The thought of having something in common with professional runners made me smile when I went for my run this morning.  I just have to work out how to make ungainly look effortless....

A little goes a long way when you apply this neat to your teeth rather than brush with it.

I learned a very economical way of using those $9 tubes of sensitive teeth toothpaste from my dentist.  Applying a thin film of toothpaste to areas of your teeth that have been worn away by vigorous brushing helps to rebuild the enamel and decrease sensitivity.  I thought this was wacky but it works for me!  Perhaps I just might heed my dentist's other piece of advice and ditch my Listerine habit.  He claims it is nothing more than perfume for your mouth.

How about that, we've all learned something new today.  Have a lovely evening.

  3. SSG, I can relate to the coffee tasting different, but I am the other way around, preferring the taste at home. Also nice work with the Africans mimicking your running style!

  4. My dentist agrees with your dentist. Apparently salt water is the best mouth rinse.

Yummy looking muesli. On the topic of dried fruit I've just discovered dried blueberries coated in chocolate, so very, very good.
