Back To EST. Kookai Memories.

This is what you get when I try to get ahead of myself at the end of daylight savings…..

A Sunday morning where I have no idea what the real time is. I was feeling ahead of the curve last night as I trotted around the house winding the clocks back an hour. Then I woke up this morning, refreshed, but apparently an hour ahead of the rest of New South Wales.

You know what I should’ve done? Just woken up this morning and changed the clocks based on the time in my iPhone. Never mind. I’ll do this in October when it starts all over again

Goodbye, daylight saving and thank you for not fading the laundry.

Aside from the clock catastrophe, it’s been a busy weekend around these parts. The baby and I have been communing with nature as we catch up on the laundry.

Baking with chocolate happened as well. I’m a big fan of chopping up chocolate squares rather than pouring out a measure of chocolate chips for a recipe. It’s not just the texture and taste of the final product but the chopping process is so much fun. The chocolate squares feel like tiles and the sound of their clacking against each other is so very calming.

The cooler weather meant soup was perfect for dinner last night.

This is a chorizo and chickpea soup with paprika toast. It was delicious and what’s more, there are plenty of leftovers for a quick weeknight dinner.

Soup, the return to eastern standard time, it’s all put me into winter wardrobe planning mode. Does this display of one size fits all, a shade for all seasons display of basic tops look familiar to you? Oh Kookai, I have such fond memories of Saturdays at Garden City spent popping in and picking just the colour I needed to complete the evening’s outfit. Sometimes I went to your sister store DCjuba next door, just to mix things up a bit but you were always the one who had the superior colour ways. I’m heading home to Perth next month and I intend to make the trek to Garden City to relive some memories.

Sadly, I didn’t get a chance to see if one size fits all still fits me when I was browsing last week but as I start figuring out just what I’m going to be wearing in this coming ‘out of the workforce’ winter, I’m sure the need for a Kookai top or two will arise. Does a anyone know if Kookai is indeed still one size fits all in the tops department?
