“We Can Change the World and Make It A Better Place.” Vale, Nelson Mandela.

Hello and happy Friday!

I know it’s been a crazy week in world news. On the Miranda Kerr news, I’m betting you can feel my enthusiasm radiating your computer screen. Never mind…..

Rest in peace, Mr Mandela. You leave behind a legacy of hope and change that has touched people like me. People who have been fortunate enough to not live under the conditions you and millions of others endured yet have been fortunate enough to still be touched by your bravery and strength. “We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make a difference.” We will keep doing so, Mr Mandela. To paraphrase the words of someone you inspired (one Barack Obama), we will live our lives motivated by our hopes and not our fears.

I mentioned last week that part of my plans for Christmas this year involve donating to a different charity each week this December. I like how writing this blog helps keep me accountable.Today’s donation has been to the Sydney Children’s Hospital. You can make a donation to their Little Lights for Little Lives appeal here. You can then go back and click on the lights decorating the home page’s Christmas tree to read the messages other people have sent to children at the hospital.

Cardi – Cotton On, T – Emerson, necklace – Red Phoenix Emporium. So excited, Willow and Lotus have just launched their new collection in Brisbane and the new website goes live very, very soon….

I’m ready for the weekend already. I’ve restarted my one woman Casual Friday dress code at work. I’m wearing my Next black skinnies (not as fitted and hence infinitely more work appropriate than the J Brands) with the above ensemble.

It’s been a glorious day in Sydney so far. It was pretty crisp this morning but oh, the clear blue sky and neverending sun! The perfect weather for my favourite black teabags from T2 – Melbourne Breakfast.

The rich vanilla scent emanating from the tin is one of the nicest ways to celebrate making it to morning tea time.

Well, that’s it from me. Have a lovely weekend and see you next week!
