Lovin’ Life 24/11/2016: Team Lah Lah. Watermelon.

I’m a huge fan of Lah-Lah’s Big Live Band, the five piece band from Sydney who aims to bring the joy of live music to children and their parents.  I love Lah-Lah’s wardrobe, I think Lah-Lah (opera singer Tina Kent) has a beautiful voice and I love the instrumental quartet who accompany her both musically and also through her adventures on the Lah-Lah television series.

I’m possibly a bigger fan than Preschooler SSG but I managed to persuade him to come with me to a recent show.

Ironically, we got pretty good seats (okay, spots on the astroturf) for this free concert yet I’ve never been able to buy tickets to Lah-Lah performances because they sell out so fast.

I won’t lie, I was singing and dancing along with feeling.  The little ones had it over me when it came to the amount of energy they put into their dancing but I knew more of the lyrics.  We balanced each other out quite nicely.
The entire band also did a meet and greet after their set.  Complete with their instruments.
The double bass twirled and the accordion unfolded itself with extravagant sweeps through the air as the children got the chance to touch and play with the instruments.  It really was a lovely way to end the concert.

Do you have a love for a children’s music group that your fellow adults struggle to understand?
I’ve also been loving life in my parallel adult world.

It’s officially frock weather in Sydney.  I’m loving my Made590 shift dress.  It’s the ‘Everyday Style’ and features front pockets, nothing too fussy at the neckline, roomy sleeves and hits mid knee on me.  Do you have this many desirable criteria for your work dresses?

I’ve fallen hard for summer fruit already.  The fridge is full of chopped watermelon and I’m going to make a start on my stash of perfectly ripened mangoes tonight after dinner.  Isn’t a little box of cut watermelon from home one of those little things to love about this time of the year?
