Lovin’ Life 6/4/2017: Fashion, Fruit and Flowers.

The highlights reel of one of those solid and productive weeks that get you closer to more exciting times.  We’re getting closer and closer to the Easter break and my travel arrangements are finally looking close to being finalized.
Necklace – Red Phoenix Emporium, leather leggings – Scanlon and Theodore, twin set – Aldi.
I collected my leggings from the tailor this week and she did the most amazing job of shortening them and redoing the hidden zippers in each leg for such a reasonable price.  I have the lovely sales assistant at Scanlon Theodore for recommending her and she’s so close to home as well.  Definitely keeping her details for future reference.
With the shorter days and cooler mornings comes all the excuse I need to whip out some new clothing purchases.  The good thing about being of a certain age (or close to it, the goal posts keep changing.. it’s fortysomething if we have to be any more precise) is not feeling compelled to follow trends while also being able to justify quality over quantity.  There’s also a sense of liberation, however, in being able to pair investment pieces with things you’ve found on the shelves of Aldi.

I’ve harvested my first crop of Indian limes and used them in my salad dressings already.  All that off season fertilizing has really paid off.

I always get a bit down in the dumps at the prospect of getting through autumn and winter without my favourite melons and stone fruit but that was because I’d forgotten just how delicious in season nashi pears are.  This isn’t going to stop me from chasing those summer fruits while I’m away next month though.
I received these orchids as a lovely surprise gift this week and they’re currently brightening up my office.  I’m in the process of reading up about how to care for it.  Do you have any tips?
