Life This Week 1/10/2018: Share Your Snaps.

Hello from International Departures at Kingsford Smith Airport where the mood is buoyant and I’m feeling a mixture of all sorts of emotions.  Relief at having made it to the airport, a bit lonesome and missing Master SSG (already), anticipation for my destination, mild anxiety as the reality of the length of the flights I’m waiting for sinks in and a whole lot of happy as the holiday mood finally kicks in.
We could discuss my feels for paragraphs but I’d best get back to this week’s theme.  So without further ado, my snaps I’d like to share for Life This Week – this week.  Oh dear, those bubbles are already kicking in…..
QANTAS serve a mean papadum.  I’m currently eating them (with fruit) for dinner.  I board at 9pm and have a sneaking suspicion that dinner on the plane will be worth saving some stomach space for.  I did succumb to the lure of duty-free on the way here but reckon the AirPods I bought on impulse were a good investment.  They instantly synced with my phone and laptop plus they recharge in their case.  Love your work, Apple.  Just have to see how they go on that first hotel treadmill run….

In true vacay form, I’m working my way back through my camera roll for this post.  This was yours truly on the way to the airport.  Can you believe it’s taken me all this time to embrace the elasticated waist and easy layers as longhaul flight attire?  No buckles +  no shoelaces =  an almost effortless walk through border security.
The Tigger in my bag may look familiar.  He came with me to LA and Master SSG nominated him for this trip as well.  Oh the sights we shall see.
The sun was out when I went on my run this morning.  Being the start of a long weekend, the ‘beach’ had to look immaculate for the weekend of festivities ahead.  Which explains why the surf rake was cutting up the beach at six in the morning.  Berlin, you’d better be pretty fabulous if I’m giving up a week of late spring in Sydney for you.  No pressure.

I’m in one of those ‘your body is a temple’ or something along those lines phases at the moment.  So I had porridge for breakfast at our local cafe this morning instead of my standing order of an almond croissant. There was also coffee. My last proper Sydney one for a week it was as well.  A, it was lovely to bump into you and have that chat too. Much love and solidarity, XX.

I’m getting paradoxically worse at packing for trips the more I have to do it.  It’s just been so slow this time around.  But I got there in the end.  I’m pretty sure I got brownie points at security for putting all (and I mean all) my less than100ml containers of liquids into a ziplock bag.  Yes, that is a laminated and annotated download of the U and S Bahn network you see in the photo.  Not as clearly shown in the photo – my colour coded word doc travel itinerary.  Who says I don’t know how to have fun on the fly?  Actually, don’t answer that too honestly….

I’ve got tickets on myself for doing craft at home already these school holidays.  This is a sports stadium Master SSG and I made.  The original instructions called for lots of glue and paint but this school mum was one step ahead.  Coloured craft paper, double sided sticky tape and an old school liquid paper pen were my MVPs instead.

Fitstagram wise, I’ve been living the fitball life.  I also rebelliously hit the treadmill to run as far as I wanted to rather than what I’m allowed to run at the moment.  Living on the edge there, SSG.
This was what I wore on my last day of work before getting my ‘out of office’ autoreply on.  The scarf was my homage to flight attendants everywhere and it’s one of my last day at work before going on leave things.

I was so excited to have gone on a proper outdoor run with a working phone camera that I had to capture the moment for posterity thus.

What has your week in snaps looked like?

Be well and I hope to check in again soon, from Berlin.
