Life This Week 1/4/2019: April Is About…

April is about ….

Saying goodbye to stonefruit (and watermelon) and preparing for the months ahead of ‘boring’ fruit.  A very first world take on fruit but the struggle is real.  My idea of rebellion and escaping the monotony of apple/pear/orange day after day?  Hitting the dried fruit hard by around April 23…

Easter goodies.  I won’t lie.  Easter chocolate and the hot cross buns occupy a disproportionate amount of real estate in my pantry for the month of April.

April is also school holidays and exciting adventures await Master SSG and I as well embark on our annual week of being tourists in our own city for that first week of the break.
I wonder where we’ll go and what we will see…..
This will be the month that I master my new Apple Watch.  That’s right.  The woman who swore to stay with regular watches for life just crossed to the dark side and there’s no turning back.  I’m just a bit rapt by being able to know what my VO2 Max is, the kilojoules I expend just by being me each day and that Breathe app that comes on every once in a while.

The Watch is also going to embark on my first attempt at a half marathon run this April as I start getting more serious about my City 2 Surf prep.

The only challenge is trying to run the 21Ks in peak suburbia…..   We’re up for the challenge though, my Apple Watch and I.  With that Lulu Lemon, of course.  Can’t forget her.
Master SSG and I are eagerly awaiting a visit from my mum and my Aunty later this month.  I’ve added extra bananas and teabags to my next grocery shop in anticipation.  It’s in the genes to have a banana every morning.  The tea bags don’t need any explaining, really.
Rain, of course, there will be rain but at least I get to wear my red Hunters as I slosh my way through it.

Last but not least, April is a travel month for me this year.  I’m looking forward to that ‘feel that weight of responsibility lifting off my shoulders’ sensation as I head to the airport in head to toe athleisure….

Before what is arguably a major highlight of my trips – getting on that first plane out of Sydney.

Can’t wait.

April is looking lovely.
