A Sentence (Or Two) A Day: June 2019.

Ahhhh.  June.  Already.

How's that for a predictable introduction to the June edition?  Like winter coming to Sydney every year, this sixth month of the year always takes me by surprise.  Here's how my 'surprise it's June and winter to boot' month went.

  1. Decisions, decisions for the first of the month.  I missed out on the Aldi cast iron saucepan I wanted but I did get my hands on some Arnott's Iced VoVo and Ginger Nut chocolate bars.  but which to open first?
  2. We took the Metro from Chatswood to Tallawong today.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't just a bit excited to be riding on Sydney's first Metro line...
  3. You know those days when you forget your work ID pass, then lose your scarf going back to the car to get said pass and then you spill an entire jar of Moccona on the office floor because you were so flustered?  It was one of those days.
  4. Grateful for gumboots, long puffer jackets, scarves and a day off today.
The traffic was bad enough for the 8 kilometres I drove today.
  5. Happy Global Running Day!!  The weather gods knew just how much it meant for me to be able to participate that they pressed pause on the rain for me this morning.
  6. I am convinced I age 10 years every time I have to do the 'drop off the car to the panel beaters and then pick up a hire car' thing.

The worst part for me is the hire care and all the anxiety about having an accident in it.  And um... how to even start it.
  7. Friday!
I made it through the week to you and the long weekend that follows in your wake.  If you were human, I'd give you a hug right now.
  8. VIVID at Luna Park.

A pretty special way to end a Saturday.
  9. Taking it slowly today.
  10. I love Amazon Prime, I really, really do.
  11. A rainbow at the end of a busy day.
  12. The scent of Lemon Crisp biscuits brings back so many happy memories of my childhood.
  13. The colours of the sky as we drove home this evening are everything.
  14. Friday, I love you.
  15. Daiso always comes through in my moment of need.  These $5.60 gloves are just what I need to keep my fingers warm on my morning runs.
  16. A pottering indoors kind of day.  It did feel good though, to get out in the fine break with my sister in law.  We only walked down the road to the post office with the boys but it was liberating to be outdoors for a bit.
  17. It's the start of the blanket badge fundraising week at Master SSG's school.
Each badge is handmade.  My favourites are the Star Wars themed one.
  18. In hindsight, I should just have looked at the sky rather than at the weather app on my phone. I got DRENCHED today.
  19. Sun!  I never thought I’d see you again.
  20. This lip gloss really is Everything.
  21. It really was cold this morning.  See!
  22. Namaste.  Happy World Yoga Day!
  23. I love being an aunty.  Speficially the birthday present shopping bit.
  24. A burst of yellow on a dreary day at work.
  25. What a lovely swim!  Patting myself on the back for not making excuses.  I just turned up and got those laps done.
  26. These choc chip cookies were a hit at work today.
  27. And that's a wrap.  The out of office email is live.  See you in a bit my hectic, crazy, tight-knit workplace.
  28. It’s amazing how much you can get done when you know you’re on leave so don’t technically have to rush around like a crazy person. But you still rush around kind of like a crazy person.
  29. And stretch.  That was a particularly good audio guided stretch I just did!
  30. Glad I could make it to church today.  It was a time of reflection and prayer for me.  It's been quite a month for myself and the people around me.
And that's a wrap!

See you next month!

  2. What a busy (and chilly) month! We saw Toy Story 4 yesterday so I'm loving the look of that Lego and the Star Wars patch is pretty cool too! How was the Arnotts chocolate, I was really tempted but resisted! Hope you have a relaxing but rejuvenating break and go back to work fully refreshed!

  5. What a lovely overview of your month SSG - lots of fun little things and also nice to see you ticked off a few not-so-fun things too (exercise and car hiring!) I'm assuming you're off on leave for a couple of weeks - enjoy your down time and the school holidays x

  6. Sounds like a great month SSG and I saw 5 rainbows this week would you believe? I haven't seen one for years and 5 in a week must be a record. I remember going to Luna Park growing up in Sydney as we didn't live far from there. Ah the memories. Enjoy July and hope you can do some journaling with me? #lifethisweek

  9. That's a nice monthly reflection/sentence post. I know what you mean about winter taking us by surprise every year. It's fucking cold though and I hate it! I loved the International yoga day badge - so cute! Yay you for being on holidays! I've got two months before a big one and I am hanging for it

  10. What a month. I have yet to try those biscuits and suspect for me they will disappoint as my 'new teeth' are more for looks than function. I am glad you have 'out of office' status now. Breathe and enjoy.

Thanks for sharing for Life This Week. Next week's optional prompt is Self Care Stories. Hope to see you there linking up. Denyse.
