A Sentence (Or Two) A Day: February 2020.


It wasn’t the greatest month, to be honest.  The world hasn’t been its best self, or rather its humans have failed each other dismally in so many areas of life.  But still, we got there in the end.  Battle-scarred, weary and I hope wiser and willing to make necessary changes as a result of all that we have done to ourselves and to those who deserved none of what they received.
  1. Thud.  The sound my soul made as it suddenly returned to the reality of School Term Saturday.  But everything got done and an evening at the beach was my reward.

  2. There’s something about this heat that makes me want to … declutter.  I’ve cleared all the problem corners of the study and it might not look like much, but the space I’ve freed up is a sight to behold.
  3. What a day.  I knew it was going to be crazy today.  But that prior knowledge wasn’t as helpful as I had hoped it would be.
  4. I have NBN and the installation wasn’t as traumatic as I feared it would be.  Except now my landline doesn’t work.  Does anyone else even have one at home I wonder?

  5. These iced animal crackers made me smile this morning and I swear that smile never (completely.. ) left my face through all the day’s drama.

  6. I made full use of every opportunity to walk and move today. Rainy weather gives me cabin fever. And we’re only at the beginning of a long spell of rain…,
  7. Grateful to be home in one piece with Master SSG and that our home is also in one piece despite all the rain. 
  8. It stopped raining long enough this morning for me to go outside for a run. Happy days. 
  9. It hasn’t stopped raining today.  Fortunate, though, to only have sprung one small leak in our roof.
  10. Sydney was feeling the pain from the weekend rain today. 

    Police stepped in for the traffic lights, we had to take the lifts because the stairwell lights were out from the rain and so it went on. Small in the scheme of things. I’m grateful for boost to our water supply too!  We’re good for at least nine months, Sydney!!

  11. I can grow tomatoes!!!!!

  12. Discovered a new cafe on my walk to kill time before school pick up today.  Actually, I purposely went off piste in search of that coffee…..

  13. Multiple tech fails today. Nature, on the other hand, always delivers. A beautiful walk in a clear break between appointments this morning. 
  14. All the love today. The feel good love, the hard love, even the ‘made to boost sales’ stuff.  Love does make the world go round.

  15. Success!  Tech issues at home resolved.  New music stand assembled.  Lawn tamed.  Another wild Saturday morning around here.
  16. Grateful for the time to reflect, pray and hope today.
  17. Busy, busy, busy. But in a good way. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow. 
  18. And I am officially, completely NBN compliant.  I finally got my old iPhone to connect consistently to the new NBN WiFi at home. 
  19. Thanks, once again, to the SES and council staff who were out making roads and buildings safe after our latest weather drama last night. 
  20. It’s never too late to learn new things!! 

    Today I learned about the alto clef and the strings on a viola. 

  21. Finally!  My floor-based filing cabinet has been cleared. 

    Only taken me around 4 weeks…

  22. The housework is officially up to date.  For now.

  24. Not my finest moment.  A can of Coke No Sugar at 9am.  Fronting up for a work Monday on very little sleep is my excuse.
  25. Got spoiled by my hairdresser today.  
  26. One of those steady days that keep you sane and steady.  Can’t ask for more than that.
  27. The gift of hearing the voices of loved ones on the phone.  Something simple that means so much in these days of text and photo messages.

  29. Looking forward to a quiet weekend losing myself in the world of my current Faith Martin series obsession.  This series features chef Jenny Starling, a woman with an uncanny knack for discovering whodunnit as she whips up the most delicious sounding meals.  
  30. And finally, this month is D-O-N-E.  Onwards and upwards for us all as we head into March, I reckon!
