Life This Week 6/4/2020: Self Care.

It's been a week of getting on with it for me in this new normal world of ours. I know you're in the same boat so I won't elaborate any further.

Here are this week's moments of joy.  Finding and then appreciating them was my self-care this week.

Being the lucky person who got to spoon out the last of the Biscoff spread from the jar for breakfast.  Of course, I ate spoonfuls straight from the jar.  It's the only way!

Finding actual Palmolive foaming hand wash at the supermarket this week!  I even had my choice of fragrance.  It's so nice to see the little luxuries back on the shelves.

Skeins and skeins of wool.  My loom stitched blanket is taking shape and I've purposely chosen a palette of bright, rich colours.

Weights, blocks, a foam roller and a mat laid out in the lounge room, next to the wool.  Spending all this time at home hasn't been as boring as I feared it would be.  I wear my gym gear all day and break up my couch time with a workout here and there. With much of my commuting time freed up these days, I've managed to find more time not only for hobbies but also to tackle those nagging jobs around the house I've been putting off ... ever since we moved in.

Spritzing my new bottle of Aesop room fragrance.  My indulgent, yearly travels abroad are but a fond but distant memory right now but the scent of something luxe wafting through the house almost makes me feel as if I'm in a hotel or lounge on the brink of an adventure.

Injecting a bit of colour into my work wardrobe gave me a bit of get up and go as I headed into the home stretch of my run of days.

And last but not least - moments out and about in the real world as I commute for one of the handful of reasons the government currently permits us to travel for.

The sun is shining, the trees are swaying gently above, light is filtering down onto the street between their leaves.

And I am at the start of seven glorious days off!

That's self-care right there!

Be well.

  1. Who knew soap and smells would be our luxury items and bring so much joy? I've written similar this week.
    Take care!

  2. I found hand soap and sanitiser at the shops the other day - I was so excited! Very impressed with your home workout kit, I've been doing zoom classes with my trainer and wish I'd had the foresight to kit my home "gym" out properly. Enjoy that time off - you've earned it. Stay safe!

  3. Enjoy your staycation. I adore the Aesop room scents and look forward to seeing the blanket take shape.

  4. Glad to hear you're taking good care of yourself. Lots of good ideas from your post. Stay safe and healthy! #lifethisweek

  5. Enjoy your days off! And I love that you're able to treat yourself and look after yourself at the same time. I'd like to focus more on exercise and realise I need to get into a routine of sorts so it becomes the norm!

  6. I can't wait to see your loomed blanket! Please post more pics!

  7. Enjoy your time off, isn't it funny how we can fill our days rather than worry about being bored! #lifethisweek

  8. What a score finding soap!!!

  9. I love the luxury of a foaming, good-scented hand soap. So glad you found some.

  10. Love your first shot. I resurrected my Lotus crunchy spread the other day...yum.... Thank you for linking up for Life This Week. Next week's optional prompt is 15/51 Share Your Snaps #3 13.4.2020 Happy Easter. Stay Safe. Stay Home. Stay Well. Denyse.
