Lovin’ Life 14/5/2020: Mother’s Day 2020.

Same but different is a recurring theme for me as life goes on with Rona.  My Mother’s Day was special, memorable and different.  Special because I observed the day as both a daughter and mother.  Memorable because new memories were made as a mother.  And different?  It was always going to be a different kind of Mother’s Day in this socially distanced world we’ve created temporarily.

These are my favourite moments from Mother’s Day 2020.

Being able to run the Mother’s Day Classic as a virtual contestant.  Before breakfast too!

A beautiful card (bearing a special handwritten wish that ‘the corona virus goes away soon please, mummy’… so that we can go out and do fun things again) accompanied by breakfast poured by those very same hands.

A tin of my favourite Danish Butter Cookies cracked open for morning tea.

Special deliveries of scones from The Tea Cosy and later a beautiful bouquet from my brother and sister in law.

The scones were perfect.  A light crunch of the crust with a perfect crumb within.

They were a perfect second morning tea enjoyed while I caught up on text messages from all the special people in my life.

How was Mother’s Day for you this year?  Were memories made?  Did you get creative in sharing the love and showing that you care?
